Three specs dominate small spaces. Dock footprint: an all-in-one station can demand two square feet - the Omni C20 exists for exactly this problem. Noise: in a studio, the robot runs while you sit in the same room, which is why quiet machines rank above stronger-but-loud ones. And single-room mapping: multi-floor LiDAR systems are wasted money at this scale, which is why gyro-navigation machines like the 11S MAX stay competitive.
Runtime anxiety also mostly disappears - a 500 sq ft apartment takes any robot here 25-40 minutes. Spend on the dock and the noise floor, not the battery.
It matters less than in a house - the robot covers less floor, so the bin fills slower. If floor space is tight, a compact dock or no dock (11S MAX, Freo S) is the smarter trade.
