Are bagged or bagless uprights better?
Bagged (Miele, Sanitaire) empties hygienically and filters better — the right call for allergies. Bagless (Eureka, Dirt Devil, Hoover Elite) has no bag cost but dumps dust when you empty it.
Upright or canister?
Uprights beat canisters on wall-to-wall carpet; canisters win on stairs, hard floors and above-floor cleaning versatility.
How long do uprights last?
Bagless budget machines: 3-5 years. Bagged premium (Miele, SEBO, Sanitaire): 10-20 years with belts and bags — they're designed to be serviced.
Do I still need an upright if I have a robot?
